Position Description:
The Homecare Caregiver assists clients with other activities that are related to the clients’ independent living which cannot be performed by the clients alone due to health and or age limitations. They also perform non-medical companionship care, supervising, feeding and dressing clients who by any reason of advanced age, physical disability, or mental deficiency need supervision. Caregivers are supervised by the Caregiving Manager and receive scheduling direction from the Caregiving Coordinator. We are seeking empathetic and dependable caregivers to join our team and make a difference!
Job Duties:
- Assist clients with personal care tasks (e.g. bathing, dressing, grooming).
- Prepare meals and ensure clients follow dietary requirements.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
- Monitor medication schedules and provide reminders.
- Assist with mobility and transportation to appointments or errands.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid ID (Driver’s license, passport, etc.).
- Must have a minimum of six month’s work experience of caregiving, healthcare, or a related field. (preferred).
- Must be physically able to perform the essential job duties of the position.
- Must show mature, responsible behavior, and understand the need for the client confidentially.
- Must be able to read, write, understand and speak English.
- Must be able to follow directions and accurately report to the Caregiving Director, Manager or Coordinator for any change in a client’s condition.
- Certification as a CNA or HHA (preferred not required).
- Ability to pass a background check.
Caregivers May Not:
- Offer medical advice.
- Make diagnoses or make decisions to use a particular drug.
- Administer controlled substances.
- Cut the fingernails or toenails of any clients.
- Perform any type of heavy housework including moving heavy appliances or furniture.
- Accept any money or gifts from clients.
- Share personal information about client to others.
